About Vanderbilt Student Communications, Inc.
VSC is a nonprofit corporation formed in 1967 to operate, publish and disseminate student communication media at Vanderbilt. For students, the divisions of VSC serve as laboratory, classroom and professional experience in the absence of an academic journalism or broadcasting department. Nearly 600 Vanderbilt students are involved each year as staff members or contributors. In 2005-06, 10 media divisions distributed more than 575,000 copies of student publications, aired thousands of hours of music, news, sports, interviews and entertainment on radio and television, streamed information and audio to the world via internet sites, and covered hundreds of hours of campus activities in service to the university community.
