Is Hillary Clinton really all that smart?

I know this isn't especially recent news, but during the presidential debate on Jan. 31, Hillary Clinton said that at the time she voted to authorize the use of force in Iraq, it wasn't clear that we would end up invading Iraq and that "coercive diplomacy" seemed like the more likely course of action. "I think what no one could have fully appreciated is how obsessed this president was with this particular mission," she said.

Grade inflation

I’m glad that The Hustler has recently been calling attention to the apparent grade inflation that has taken place at Vanderbilt over the past few years, since it is a trend I find rather troubling.

It was originally devised by the Church of Scientology in the early 1990s as a way to get rid of the Internal Revenue Service, with which the church was then at war (at the time the IRS refused to recognize it as a legitimate religion). The Scientologists' idea was that since almost all states have sales taxes, replacing federal taxes with the same sort of tax would allow them to collect the federal government's revenue and thereby get rid of their hated enemy, the IRS."
