Highly touted shooting guard prospect John Jenkins was recently updated to 5-star status by Rivals.com, the first player ever to commit to the Commodores to reach that level. He was previously a four-star recruit when he agreed to play for coach Kevin Stallings in December of 2007, choosing Vanderbilt over offers from, among others, Villanova, Mississippi State and Alabama.
Jenkins led the nation in scoring his senior year, averaging over 42 points a game at a scorching 62 percent shooting clip. His sensational accuracy will surely make him and point guard Jermaine Beal, who will return for his senior year, one of the toughest backcourts in the country.
