Vanderbilt police officer John B. Newman has been cleared of indecent exposure charges and reinstated into his senior position with the department.

Newman was indicted in March on charges of exposing his genitals to a female driver on Interstate 65 back in January. After the initial charge in January, he was placed on administrative leave.

With the reinstatement, Newman has resumed his title of Commander. He has been a member of the VUPD since June 24, 2002.
