That is, "Greetings from Galway" as they say here in the Gaeltacht (the Irish-speaking areas of the Republic). I've moved into my apartment, located in a ginormous complex called Gort na Coiribe. It's off-campus housing that pretty much only houses students, since the city is one big college town. Here's a picture from my window, looking out at the other apartments.

Right now, it's the two of us on the third story of our 6-person apartment; we assume that those downstairs rooms will be occupied by Irish students, so we'll have to wait and see. My roommate, Todd, is from Maine and goes to Tufts University. We're having a good time laughing about Arrested Development and stuff, so it should be a good semester.

After I set my bags down, I went out to buy some essentials, like a bed spread, a cell phone and shampoo. Luckily my roommate bought toilet paper, since I forgot about it. The shops are really close here, which is very nice since right now I have to walk everywhere.

Now that I have a reliable internet connection, I can blog more about my last couple of days in Dublin, but now it's off to a late dinner. Next update will be about my trip to the Old Jameson Distillery.
