Another Hillsboro Village hot spot, Jackson’s Bar & Bistro is a tried and true Vanderbilt favorite. Although it’s not on the card (and I know we all wish it were), prices are reasonable and the food is some of the best casual dining in the area. For a group of friends looking for a low-key meal, Jackson’s is always a great option. This restaurant has a great beer and cheese dip appetizer, and even the side salads are delicious. The real reason Vandy students come to Jackson’s, however, is for the desserts: the cookie dough egg rolls and gooey butter cake are two of the most delicious desserts to be found anywhere in the city, and either option makes Jackson’s a more than worthwhile dinner destination. —Avery Spofford
