On the arm of quaterback Jevan Snead, Ole Miss jumped to a commanding 17 - 0 lead at the half over Vanderbilt. Snead connected on 14 of 23 pass attempts, for 188 yards and two touchdowns. Half of his completions have gone to receiver Shay Hodge, who has recorded 115 yards and one touchdown.
The Vanderbilt offense struggled, as quarterback Larry Smith failed to complete a pass on his nine attempts. The lone bright spot of the Commodore offense has been running back Jared Hawkins, who leads all rushers with 44 rushing yards on six attempts. One two occasions, successful drives came up short, as kicker Ryan Fowler missed two field goals.
