We spoke to football player Broderick Stewart and soccer player Megan Eddings in this edition of "He Said/She Said." Here are Megan's responses, click here to read Broderick's.
Vanderbilt Hustler: How important is defense to winning a game?
Megan Eddings: We have to stay strong and not give up any goals We support the attack the whole time. You don’t give up goals, you win games. Like Friday (against Tennessee), we didn’t give up any, we were strong, no free shots, no goals, we won. We couldn’t hold them off today (in a 3-0 loss to Georgia), but it’s a really big part of our team.
VH: How do you get over a tough loss?
ME: We’re a pretty positive team. You just put your head to the grind. We’re already prepared to go in there on Monday and work hard, and come back out next weekend and win.
VH: Conversely, how do you celebrate a win?
ME: Our team was pretty beat after Friday’s game going into overtime. But whenever we’re home and we win, when we’re jogging off, “I Feel Good” comes on the loudspeaker and we kind of just dance around. [Our coach] gives us that night to celebrate, and then the next day we’re back at it getting ready for Sunday.
VH: What’s the most-played song on the iPod right now?
ME: We listen to Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the USA” like it’s our job. It’s ridiculous. What’s it called, that swag song, “Turn My Swag On”, we listen to that all the time. Those would be our two big ones.
VH: Something we might not know about your head coach?
ME: She is surprisingly a goofball. You see her on the field and she’s serious all the time. She definitely can crack up and bring a lighter side to the game when we need it.
VH: Craziest thing that’s ever happened on a road trip?
ME: Before one of the games, Ronnie was out on the field jumping up and down dancing to a song and that was pretty crazy. Our road trips are usually very structured. We haven’t had very many crazy things. One time… I don’t know if I should say this.
