The Vanderbilt women's soccer team's scoring struggles continued Friday night in a 2-0 loss to visiting Arkansas.

It was the second time in a row the Commodores (7-5-1, 1-4 Southeastern Conference) were shut out after falling 3-0 to Georgia on Oct. 4. Razorback goalie Britni Williams registered 10 saves on the night, upping Arkansas' conference-leading 7.8 saves per game.

Midfielder Sophie Wentz got the Razorbacks on the board 36 minutes into the first half with her third goal of the year and the score was 1-0 at halftime.

Vanderbilt had numerous scoring chances in the second half but could not capitalize, including one offensive set where Megan Kinsella, returned after a brief stint on the bench with an injury, had a perfect cross for Nicole Lukens. Lukens' shot just missed crossing the goal line when Williams snagged it.

Molly Kinsella also had several strong shots on goal but the Commodores could not find the back of the net.

Razorback forward and team-leading scorer Allie Chandler kicked her fifth goal of the season into the left corner of the net, just over the outstretched hands of Vanderbilt keeper Rachel Bachtel, to make it 2-0 18 minutes into the second half, and setting off a round of Hog-calling by the Arkansas fans in attendance.

The Commodores cap their four-game homestand Sunday at 1 p.m. against 10th-ranked LSU.
