Vanderbilt redshirt sophomore running back Jermaine Doster has been suspended indefinitely by coach Bobby Johnson for violating team rules.

The suspension stems from an incident in downtown Nashville over the weekend where Doster had a skirmish with police after being involved in a fight. He had to be subdued with a stun gun before being placed under arrest.

Doster was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

This comes a little over a year after Doster was suspended by Johnson for the 2008 season for a similar incident with police in his home town of Tampa, Fla.

Doster played in the season-opener and rushed for 36 yards on five carries but had not seen action since then. He is the younger brother of former Commodore running back Kwane Doster, who was shot and killed in 2004 in Tampa.
