Vanderbilt has finally scored.
The Commodores put seven on the board in their opening drive of the half. Larry Smith connected with TE Brandon Barden for a five-yard TD reception on third and goal. The 80-yard, 4:16 drive was the longest of the season for Vanderbilt.
Smith's struggles continued in the first half, as he completed only 7-19 pass attempts and threw a pick in the first half, as the Commodores' streak of scoreless first quarters against SEC opponents continued.
Georgia quarterback Joe Cox shook off early troubles, to put together a couple long Georgia drives in the second quarter. Wideout AJ Green racked up 95 receiving yards on three passes, including a 65-yard touchdown to put Georgia on the board in the first.
In the second, the Commodores drove into Bulldog territory on a nine play, 61 yard series, only to come up short on 4th down and 3 to go and give Georgia the ball back.
