Oh readers, this day was rough. To put this in the terms of my “Greek City” class, this day was like a siege on Bronze Age Athens. Shenans were attacking the acropolis by foiling Versus (damn you, CMYK color font) and so now, I’m hiding out in the 20-25 meter deep cistern, eating the Bronze Age equivalent of Rice Krispies. For future reference: never, ever put off dinner until 11:30 pm if you have other options. Right around 9:30, things go downhill very quickly. At one point, Hannah walked in to the office and saw me collapsed on Matt’s desk and when she asked me how things were going, my reply was, “I’m so hungry!”

I didn’t get a whole lot of beauty sleep last night so I’m going to keep this post brief, but I’ll write a little about last week’s lecture because I feel super guilty that it’s technically Wednesday. So, last week’s topic was Hypothermia. We watched this truly wild movie, “By Nature’s Rules,” which featured hilarious dialogue, plastic ponchos that would NEVER work in the wild, and a very barren ridge. I did have to laugh at the female characters, Linda and Jill. I saw shades of myself in both of them: Linda was blonde, slightly ditzy and kind of unprepared for the wild. Jill was a newbie to the wilderness who preferred to take pictures and was kind of holding up the group. Although, maybe I’m not so much like Jill because Kelly and I totally led the way when we were canoeing, just saying.

Between the lecture and the ninja party* I will go over the “interactive” portion of the hypothermia lecture so check back!

*We can start advertising for benefit at midnight tonight (fliers, posters, banners) so my plan is an all out ninja style advertising assault. Here’s the plan: alpha delts (and anyone else who likes ninjas, all are welcome!) are coming to the house tomorrow at midnight where I will give them their “assignment” (either a part of campus to put fliers up on trees/buildings or where to hang a banner). Hopefully, with so many groups this will go really quickly and then, when they get back to the house, I will have hot cocoa and sweet treats waiting for them. Not pie, too soon for that but something else yummy. It’s going to be fun…
