Imagine going to one of your favorite local boutique stores, having them dress you in the latest fall fashions — for free, strutting down the runway like Naomi Campbell in 1999, and doing it all for a great cause. This Thursday, 23 Chi Omega seniors will do just that as Chi-O presents their annual Fashion Show. This show is the best of both worlds because it not only showcases some of the cutest fall trends, but also serves as a great act of philanthropy. 100 percent of the proceeds go to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation, an organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. All of the designs that will appear on the runway come from three of Nashville’s local boutiques: Posh, Cotton Mill, and Boutique Bella. The models were allowed to visit the stores and personally customize and collaborate their own personal style with the newest fall and winter trends of the season. All three of the stores donated the clothes for free in an effort to show support for the Fashion Show. As if that weren’t enough to touch your heart, two children who have had their wishes granted by Make-A-Wish will join the model line up in walking down the runway. The event coordinator, Alex Bettis, is very excited about the show, and more importantly, about where the proceeds go. “Our biggest goal is to raise money so we can, as a Chapter, make a wish come true. We’re really honored that we have the opportunity to give back.” It cost roughly about $6,000 to grant one wish and Chi-Omega has already raised enough money to grant two. “We’re hoping that after the final sale of tickets- we can grant three wishes in all”, Alex says and I believe they can do it. Tickets are only $5 and will be sold all week on the wall outside of Rand and also at the door. The show will debut this Thursday, October 5, in the Sarratt Cinema, at 5 p.m. I can’t wait to be front row and center for this event. I love fashion shows-especially fashions shows that are for a great cause!
