We spoke with senior guards Jermaine Beal and Jessica Mooney from the Commodore basketball teams for this edition of "He Said/She Said." Click here to read Jessica's responses.

Vanderbilt Hustler: What’s your favorite thing about the fall?
Jermaine Beal: I guess my favorite thing is watching college football and at the same time practicing for the upcoming season.

VH: What’s your favorite thing to do with your team?
JB: I’d probably say, on the road, we all just hang out together. We lay back, chill and relax.

VH: What’s the best part about being a senior?
JB: The best part is, it’s my last year so just trying to lead this team to a victory every night.

VH: How has your role changed from last year to this year?
JB: Last year, our team was young, so now we’ve got everybody back. Our team has changed a little bit so our team is more experienced. I think my role — my teammates look for me to make more plays this year.

VH: What’s your favorite personal sports moment ever?
JB: I’ve had a lot, I don’t know. I guess you could say, my sophomore year, I hit the game-winning shot against South Carolina.

VH: How do you celebrate a win?
JB: You probably enjoy it for that night, and then you wake up in the morning and realize you got another hard game coming up, probably in the next day or so.

VH: What’s your ultimate goal for this season?
JB: The ultimate goal is I want our team to maximize our full potential this year. I think we have a good team, but we’ll go as far as everybody plays to their potential.

VH: Are there any games you look forward in particular to playing?
JB: I look forward to every game this season.

VH: What’s your favorite venue to play at?
JB: I like playing at Florida, Tennessee and Kentucky.

VH: Are you going to the Jay-Z concert on Friday?
JB: I think he’s a good rapper, but I’m from down south. I don’t really listen to a lot of up-north rappers like that. I might go, I might not, but if I do it’ll be last minute.
