Sophomore forward Jeff Taylor led three players in double figures with 19 points in Vanderbilt's 91-56 exhibition win over Alabama-Huntsville on Tuesday night.

Senior guard Jermaine Beal added 14 and sophomore guard Brad Tinsley had 12 as the Commodores jumped out to a 17-2 lead and extended their advantage to 51-18 at halftime in a dominant performance.

Highly touted freshman John Jenkins got the crowd at Memorial Gym going when his first 3-point atttempt swished through, and he knocked down another before half-time. He finished with 9 points, making 3-5 shots from beyond the arc.

Redshirt sophomore center Festus Ezeli started in place of junior A.J. Ogilvy, who is still getting over the effects of a concussion sustained during practice in October. Ezeli had 8 points and a game-high 4 blocks. and Ogilvy added 8 points off the bench.

The Commodores played tenacious defense in the first half, holding the Chargers without a field goal for nearly eight minutes to start the game and just 29 percent shooting for the half. They let up a little in the second half, allowing 38 points, but the outcome was never in doubt.

Vanderbilt opens the regular season next Monday against fellow Nashville school Lipscomb.
