The Vanderbilt Commodores (17-6, 6-4) notched their third straight SEC victory Thursday night, traveling to Gainesville, FL, and defeating the Florida Gators (12-10, 5-4) convincingly with a score of 66-58.
Junior guard Jence Rhoads continued her strong play since returning from injury, leading the Commodores with 14 points and dishing out four assists. Senior guard Jessica Mooney filled up the stat sheet as well, totaling nine points, five assists, three steals and three rebounds.
This latest win keeps coach Melanie Balcomb's squad hot heading into the crux of their conference home schedule. Senior leader Merideth Marsh and Co. look to upend the heralded Lady Volunteers at Memorial Gymnasium next Monday, then take on the Wildcats of Kentucky on Valentine's Day.
