But, I tend to have fashion tendencies.
(I can’t help it. My homepage is “The Sartorialist”).
Either way, I knew coming to Europe, especially Barcelona, to study abroad would mean sidewalk street staring & outfit inspiration. Though the space in my luggage did not seem to agree, I was able to still bring some of my essential clothing must-have’s. My current observations include…
1. I’m really, really itching to do some “street style” photography. I’ve already tested it out a little on some friends here, but the real challenge will be asking a stranger. In the end, it’s a compliment right?
2. My CIEE classes are located one street off of “Passeig de Gracia”…basically Barcelona’s own “5th Avenue”. Not good. I understand the meaning of self-control, but when there are apprx. 3 Zara stores located within walking distance, this becomes a slight problem. (I plead the 5th in discussing any recent purchases)
3. Seeing price tags in “euros” is a total trick. It messes up my judgment. It makes me feel less guilty, when in reality, I should be converting into dollars.
4. Guys dress better the best here. But, that’s a given. This is Europe.
5. I recently learned that a “blazer”, is “americana” in Spanish. Thus, one of my favorite articles of clothing allows to me proudly state: estoy una americana y me encanta llevar americanas. Oh the irony.
