HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS

Book Seven.  Who else is as excited about this as I am?  True, while some may find such die-hard excitement and fandom to be pathetic and despicable, I find it highly appropriate and vastly entertaining.  Not to mention cool.  That's right, cool.  I like Harry Potter and I'm not afraid to admit it.  And what's there to be ashamed of anyway?  It was the number one bestseller on the Times bestseller list for so long that Times had to create a separate children's list to give other adult authors a chance at the number one spot.  Beat that, John Grisham.  (Actually, I like John Grisham.  But I like Harry Potter more, of course.)  Besides, they always say the most intelligent people read fantasy and/or nonfiction - romance is reserved for the opposite end of the spectrum.  This information is, of course, based on averages and is therefore subject to inaccuracies... but only in certain cases.

Anyway, with the releasal of the title of Harry Potter book 7, I can't help but hope that perhaps the book will be released this summer alongside the movie (which comes out July 13).  Pre-orders are already being accepted and advertisements (up until now bearing no official title) have been sent out to the stores.  My guess: book 7 will be released on 7/7/07.

I just wish I knew what the hell the title was talking about.  That and whether Snape is a secret hero or a blatant ass-hole bitch.  I'll just have to wait and find out, I suppose.  Dammit, that sucks.

Wow...

And I thought the last title was bad! Harry Potter and the DEATHLY HOLLOWS.... AAAAH!! hee hee hee. I've read all 6 of the books so far, and I kind of enjoyed them, but I'm just not that impressed by the writing. It doesn't flow well. And Harry himself is really getting on my nerves lately. Seriously, doesn't he ever have bad thoughts? Doesn't he even want to sneak a cookie before dinner, without it being a necessary part of defeating Lord Voldemort?
The amount of Harry Potter fanfiction out there terrifies me, on a deep psychological level. Especially the amount of 'adult' fanfiction. It's a children's book, people.
Then again, I also discovered an archive of Bible fanfiction. I was too traumatised by the very thought to skim any of the stories.

HP Porn and the Lord (an odd combination)

Yes, reading a story about how Harry and Ron made a "Draco sandwich" just isn't my cup of tea.

Harry does have bad thoughts though - he did attempt to torture the woman who killed his godfather. However, he was too good to really do it right. I, on the other hand, would have kicked that sorry bitch's ass.

And beware of "adult" Bible fanfiction. It would give "What Would Jesus Do" a whole new meaning.

hp=stir crazy

harry may not have many bad thoughts, but he is by no means the perfect person: he is arrogant, stubborn, and obsessive. he's bought into the "chosen one" title, and unless his moodiness is just teen angst, i fear harry's headed for a padded room in st. mungo's.
