Playboy Causes Controversy On Vanderbilt's Campus

Playboy arrived on Vanderbilt's campus Tuesday, scouting for female students who attend Vanderbilt for a future pictorial .

While some are auditioning to become part of the men's magazine, others are upset the magazine is on the school's campus.

In Wednesday edition of Vanderbilt's student-run newspaper, "The Vanderbilt Hustler", the cover story is about the Playboy controversy that began with the advertisement that Playboy is coming to Vanderbilt to "Look for beautiful young college girls."

Twenty Vanderbilt University students accused of illegally downloading music and movies have an example of what can happen if they ignore warnings from the recording industry.

Chelsea Conn, 19, a University of Tennessee sophomore, must pay $3,000 to settle threatened litigation by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Fresh off his first regular appearance as a political commentator on Fox News, a semester into his first stint as a college professor, and some four months out from his stinging defeat against now Sen. Bob Corker, Harold Ford Jr. is in limbo.

After leaving the House of Representatives - the only career he has known - to run unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate, Ford now finds himself caught somewhere in between the worlds of professional politics, academia, and the media.

Ford is a visiting professor at Vanderbilt this semester.

Sixteen months after suffering major knee damage, the 6-1, 230-pound Vanderbilt junior tailback is back on the practice field as the Commodores enter their second week of spring drills.

Jennings' knee is sound again. His perspective on football has been overhauled, also.

Now Kevin Stallings and his squad find themselves playing for an Elite Eight berth.

Brad Jaeger wants to race in the Indianapolis 500. Beginning Saturday at Homestead-Miami Speedway, he'll take one step closer.

Jaeger, a Cincinnati native and student at Vanderbilt, is set to begin his rookie campaign in the Indy Pro Series, the Triple-A level of IndyCar racing.

"The Indy Pro Series offers the best all-around package out of any open-wheel series in the United States for up-and-coming drivers, and it's also the series that best prepares drivers for the Indy 500," Jaeger said.

Many of these children aren't getting enough exercise, but Vanderbilt has found a way to help get kids back in shape.
