Welcome to the next segment of InsideVandy's 'best of' series. This installment will follow the vein of our last segment, The Best of YouTube. We now proudly bring you the best viral videos of all time.
I am fairly certain that many of you will have seen all of these videos before (judging by the fact that the No. 10 video on our list was viewed a mere 50 million times!), but, if you have not, now is your chance.
(Disclaimer: Some of the videos do not have links to them. That is because the MSNBC article from which I took this list did not have the links. Also, be aware that some of these videos might have some provocative content)
10. The Shining Redux: viewed an estimated 50 million times. This video parodies "The Shining" as a romantic comedy. (The original video could not be found; the YouTube link is a re-post)
9. AfroNinja: 80 million views. This video is billed as "A kung fu Audition gone wrong." Needless to say, it's pretty dang funny.
8. Kolla2001: 200 million views. This kid could give Napoleon Dynamite a run for his money. Check out his moves…it’s inhuman!
7. Trojan Games: 300 million views. This video was removed from YouTube for questionable content, but I am sure a quick Google search could turn something up.
6. John West Salmon Bear Fight: 300 million views. The name says it all.
5. Exploding whale: 350 million views. One of the more disgusting clips on the web, but interesting nonetheless. Watch at your own risk.
4. Kylie Minogue: Agent Provocateur: 360 million views. It's a lingerie commercial. The "provocative content" warning is a given.
3. One Night in Paris: 400 million views. Again, the name says it all. You are on your own for a link to that one.
2. Numa Numa: 700 million views. What viral video countdown would be complete without the Numa Numa video? Well, here it is again in all its hilarious glory.
And the number 1 video is….
1. Star Wars Kid: 900 million views. In case you have not seen this video, I would check it out. On another note, I heard that the kids who filmed this and posted it online did so without the actor's consent, and the legal battle over this video is still raging. Imagine if someone posted one of the most embarrassing videos of you online. How would you feel? But then again, this guy has international fame now, so it cannot be all bad.
