NEWS: Student votes make Andrew Wilson new Young Alumni Trustee

Members of the Classes of 2006, 2007 and 2008 voted to elect senior Andrew Wilson as the newest Young Alumni Trustee, according to the Office of Alumni Relations.

Wilson will now serve a three-year term on the university's Board of Trust and will join Carrie Colvin and Alice Ji, two recent alumni elected to the board in 2005 and 2006, as the third Young Alumni Trustee.

"Young Alumni Trustees have an opportunity to be at the center of the university's government and provide fellow trustees with a fresh perspective on Vanderbilt today. Being a trustee calls for loyalty to the total university and a commitment to its future," according to the alumni relations Web site.

Current juniors and seniors, as well as members of the Class of 2006, were encouraged to cast their vote online from April 9-13.

Seniors Emilie Carroll and Jay Salato were also eligible for election to the board.
