A year ago, quarterback Chris Nickson ran the wrong way out of the tunnel before making his first career start against Michigan. He looked much more comfortable Saturday night.

Chased out of the pocket, Nickson bought some time and found Jeff Jennings in the end zone for a three-yard touchdown pass, his fourth of the game, to give the Commodores a 38-17 lead.

Nickson is now 18-for-24 for 240 yards. Junior wide receiver Earl Bennett has12 catches for 169yards and three touchdowns.
