Www.perezhilton.com reports that former football player O.J. Simpson, best known for the headlining, infamous murder scandal of 1996, was questioned by police in Las Vegas on Thursday about his potential involvement in a hotel room break-in at the Palace Station casino. After releasing him, a police spokesman said, “We don’t believe he’s going anywhere.” Today, the investigators report was turned over to the Las Vegas district attorney, who decides whether to pursue an arrest warrant in the case. Later today, O.J. Simpson confessed to taking sports memorabilia that belonged to him from the room, but he is denying that he broke in to get it. Simpson says he was conducting a “sting operation” to collect his belongings when he was escorted into the room at the Palace Station casino. "If the glove fits, acquit!" Well this one does not, hopefully! Www.yahoo.com reports troubled country singer Mindy McCready, best known for her 1996 hit song "Guys Do It All The Time," has been sentenced to a year in jail for probation violation. I love living in Nashville; people who live in the Middle Tennessee area hear all about country stars' arrests. How convenient. Www.perezhilton.com reports that Britney Spears’ attorney, Laura Wasser, filed paperwork today that will make her ex-husband, former backup dancer and failed rapper Kevin Federline, financially secure forever. Perez says, "Per their pre-nuptial agreement, K-Fed’s spousal support was supposed to end in two months. According to the just-filed new spousal agreement, Spears will pay Federline $20,000, due on the first of each month, until 'the death of either party, or the remarriage of Federline.' This will presumably put an end to their messy paternity battle." Though it appears Britney may be consenting to this, do not totally believe it. The pre-nup is still in effect and the document was filed for technical tax reasons, so Federline will still be cut off in November. Hoorah! PopoZ?£o that! UPDATE: Finally, I reported on insidevandy last night in a breaking news segment on my blog that Britney Spears might be using Sunday's Emmy Awards as an opportunity to express her apologies for her dreadful performance last Sunday on the VMAs. A spokesperson from her label, Jive, said this, "Britney Spears has no plans to appear on the Emmys this Sunday." Well, shoot. I was getting Vanderbilt students all excited over nothing.
