The AP reports that David Beckham arrived in England early today to visit his father, who was hospitalized after suffering a heart attack. The British soccer star, who hasn't played a game since August 30th because of a right knee injury, took the first flight from L.A. to London after hearing the news and arrived at Heathrow airport at about noon. "His father had a heart attack," Beckham's publicist, Simon Oliveira said. "David was made aware of it late last night. He caught the first available flight and he'll be arriving in London around lunchtime." Beckham, wearing dark glasses and a brown jacket and jeans, sat in first class on the 12-hour flight and was the first person to leave the British Airways plane. He was met by two airline officials who had a car waiting on the tarmac. The Los Angeles Galaxy player arrived at the hospital at about 1:40 p.m. GMT but declined to answer questions on his way in. 59-year-old Ted Beckham was taken to a hospital near his home in east London on Wednesday night, where he was then transferred to another hospital. "We can confirm that he is a patient," Barts and The London NHS Trust spokeswoman Michelle Alexander said. "He's in stable condition at the London Chest Hospital." Oliveira said Ted Beckham had surgery and is in intensive care. In 2005, Ted Beckham published a book called "David Beckham: My Son." It was reported that the book led to a falling out between the two Beckhams because Ted did not get David's permission before writing it, but the pair have since reconciled. Victoria Beckham was in Japan promoting her new cosmetics line, but was flying as soon as possible to Britain, her publicist, Jo Milloy, said. Perez Hilton reports that former *NSYNC member J.C. Chasez has just been dropped by his record label, Jive. At the UsWeekly Hot Hollywood Party on Wednesday night, he told reporters that he "mutually parted ways" with Jive Records. The Nielsen ratings report that the new "Grey’s Anatomy" spin-off, "Private Practice," premiered well last night. Perez Hilton reports that the show, starring Kate Walsh, was the most-watched series premiere thus far this season. "Another strong debut was NBC’s Bionic Woman, which also premiered on Wednesday," he adds. "That show was the night’s top show among adults 18-49, the highly coveted demographic amongst advertisers." Dlisted.com reports that Bollywood star, Shilpa Shetty, famous for her infamous kiss with Richard Gere at an AIDS awareness event earlier this year, was arrested in India today. The kiss caused massive protests and the burning of Shilpa and Richard's pictures. Shortly after the kiss, a court issued a warrant for Richard's arrest and barred Shilpa from leaving the country. A court later overturned this ruling. Shilpa was leaving India today to attend an event in Berlin when she was arrested. She was later released when officials found out that the ban was overturned. Shilpa said, "I can understand something like this if I'd committed a criminal offense. But what was my offense, when I'm just an actor, going to perform a musical on foreign land." Sigh. Was this really worth my attention? Finally, P!nk was overheard telling her friends that her marriage to Carey Hart may be over. UsWeekly reports that P!nk told her girlfriends, "I'M SICK OF THE D--K. BRING ON THE C-IT!" After this blatant exclamation, she added, "We’re just not getting along anymore. We each need our space. We need our distance. It’s not like it was when we first started." A friend of Carey's confirms this by saying the couple are getting divorced. This source said, "Carey is tired of her always accusing him of cheating, and he’s fed up with the constant arguing. He says he cannot deal with her anymore. It’s his decision to put an end to this. They are 100 percent getting a divorce." P!nk's spokesperson has denied all of this. They always deny, and then eventually, they get divorced. Time will tell if this is true.
