In a letter to The Hustler, The Music Group contended Wildhorse Saloon has been falsely advertising an after-party for Kanye West as a part of Homecoming and Commodore Quake.
The after-party, as advertised in The Hustler on Wednesday, will be held at the Wildhorse Saloon and feature a fashion show and personal appearance by West.
The Music Group says flyers have been handed out on campus claiming West will be performing and this is a Vanderbilt-sanctioned event, but the group says both of those statements are false.
The Music Group has been in discussion with West's representation through their booking agent and has been assured West will not be at this event, they wrote.
However, Wildhorse management contends otherwise.
"There is a contract in place for Kayne West to make an appearance at the bar around midnight, and although he won't perform, he will interact with the crowd," Wildhorse manager Mike Davis said.
Davis also said he knew nothing about flyers distributed on campus Thursday but hopes "students come out to this great event."
Despite this, The Music Group urges students not to buy tickets to this event and is upset Wildhorse would engage in what they believe to be false advertising.
