Looking for the most up to date SEC power rankings? Check out Alex Walder breaking down September 19, 2009 right here.

1. LSU (7-1, 4-1 SEC)

Even if the Tigers would have had time to kick the field goal, kudos to coach Les Miles for going for the touchdown in the final seconds against Auburn.

2. Florida (5-2, 3-2)

Sophomore quarterback Tim Tebow showed why he is the frontrunner for the Heisman Saturday in Lexington. The Gators are praying his shoulder holds up down the stretch.

3. Alabama (6-2, 4-1)

The fact that the Crimson Tide beat the Vols wasn't too surprising. However, the fact they completely outplayed them was.

4. Kentucky (6-2, 2-2)

The Wildcats may have lost to Florida, but that doesn't mean their victory over LSU was a fluke. These guys are good.

5.Auburn (5-3, 3-2)

Tommy Tubberville's squad came oh-so-close to handing LSU its first home loss in 18 tries.

6. South Carolina (6-2, 3-2)

Steve Spurrier kept saying his team was overrated despite its No. 6 ranking. Looks like he was right. At least Gamecock fans had the state fair to take their mind off the loss.

7. Georgia (5-2, 3-2)

The Bulldogs have two weeks to prepare for Tebow and the Gators. If they play like they did against Vandy, it won't matter.

8. Vanderbilt (4-3, 2-3)

The defense was dominant, Mackenzi Adams made more than enough big plays in his first career start, and the Commodores are now two games away from becoming bowl-eligible.

9. Tennessee (4-3, 2-2)

After getting smashed by Alabama, the Vols get to host an angry South Carolina team this weekend. It could be another long season for Phil Fulmer and company.

10. Arkansas (4-3, 1-3)

The Razorback offense got back on track against Ole Miss as it put up 44 points.

11. Mississippi State (4-4, 1-3)

If you play in the SEC and are trying to get six wins, why would you schedule West Virginia as one of your non-conference games?

12. Ole Miss (2-6, 0-5)

I doubt that coach Ed Orgeron, who is the subject of Bruce Feldman's book "Meat Market," wants anything written about this season.
