If, years from now, only a single singer-songwriter of the current generation has their lyrics poured over by academics in the manner reserved for the likes of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, it will most likely be Moscow, Idaho, native Josh Ritter.
Few could write a post-apocalyptic love song set in an underground bunker and centered around the decision of whether or not to launch a nuclear warhead and pull it off as successfully as this Oberlin College graduate does in the song "The Temptation of Adam," off his recently-released fifth album, "The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter."
Ritter will perform Friday, Nov. 2, at the Exit/In. The concert begins at 9 p.m. with opening act Eric Bachmann, from the bands Archers of Loaf and Crooked Fingers.
