Welcome to the sixth annual week of StartEm/BenchEm with Mr. X for week 9 in the NFL. Hey all, hope you had a fantastic week and are now ready for the biggest matchup to date...the battle of the undefeateds. MY teams stand at 8-0, 6-1, 6-2, and 6-2. MY lifetime predictions on the blog stand at 42-26. I'm doing this late on Sunday again as I have been sick all week so I ll be going a little bit more rapid fire. Without further ado, let's get to it. ------------------------------------------- StartEm Titans D/ST TEN - They have been insane on the run D and this week they have a pretty favorbale matchup in CAR. LenDale White RB/TEN - This kid is amazing, and with the recent TEN Off. basically switching to a 70/30 run game, he's chewing up yards. Reggie Wayne WR/IND - Ever since Harrison has been out, he has reallllllllly stepped up his game and this week should be no different. ALL the passing Cowboys QB/WR/TE - Yeah TO is home in PHI and is going to go insane. Reggie Brown WR/PHI - Looked liek he was gonna be a bust this season but after last week I'm showing some faith. Frank Gore RB/SF - He's going against ATL and if he doesn't get it done this week, either trade him (if your league didn't set a deadline) or waiver his butt home. Reggie Bush RB/NO - Wow. He's back. All your Pats except DEF QB/RB/WR/TE - Obvious, high scoring affair on both sides which leads me to... All your Colts except DEF QB/RB/WR/TE - I know I specifically pointed to Reggie Wayne, but he deserves his own spot on the list with how well he's been playing. ----------------------------------------------- BenchEm David Carr QB/CAR - Titans DEF, need I say more. James Jones WR/GB - Yeah he had a huge game, but we all know GB can't run the ball. KC knows that too and is one of the highest rated pass DEF in the league. Julius Jones RB/DAL - Just not worthy of a 2nd RB start. Try and pick up Chris Henry or Selvin Young. Fred Taylor RB/JAC - NO has been on fire and has arguably one of the best TD run D's out there. DeShaun Foster RB/CAR - Yeah Titans DEF against the run is the most effective in the league to date. And I'm not just saying that cuz I go to school in TEN. Jeff Garcia QB/TB - He was good. Now, I just don't know.... All your Ravens QB/RB/WR/TE/D/ST - PIT D is what I have always claimed it to be and is why I own it in three of my four leagues. It is just plain old funk nasty D. --------------------------------------------------- Predictions SD @ MIN = SD - After last week's performance, there is zero doubt that SD offense has what it takes to put away a game in the first quarter. JAC @ NO = NO - Pretty even matchup, but will how well Bush is playing I have to go NO. WAS @ NYJ = WAS - Redskins were embarrassed by the Pats last week and are coming back hungry. ARI @ TB = TB - Close Game, but I am hoping that some how TB avoids complete embarrassment. SF @ ATL = ATL - Despite how much I hate the ATL offense, the 49ers just haven't looked good at all, they do look old though. CIN @ BUF = CIN - CIN has been on a pretty bad losing streak as of late and I'm feeling this one as a bounce back game against a struggling DEF. DEN @ DET = DET - I never thought I'd say it but, GO Lions. They're actually...good. CAR @ TEN = TEN - Was this even a question who I choose after my fantasy picks.... GB @ KC = KC - Short GB week to prepare and KC secondary are the reasons I choose KC to come out on top here. ----- Sunday 4 PM Games SEA @ CLE = CLE - After being a premiere football team, SEA has just dropped off the map. While CLE is coming into it's own following the lead of Edwards. HOU @ OAK = OAK - Schaub is out again, and this is not gonna be pretty. NE @ IND = IND - This one is literally 50/50. Both have explosive offenses and decent defenses. It comes down to who makes a vital mistake and causes a turnover. If Bob Sanders can show up against the run like he did in JAC and the Pass D of the Colts hangs on. I see Peyton and his crew coming to victory here. Pats Defense is also good, but they only have one good corner against three good receivers in Harrison, Wayne, and Clark. ----- Sunday Night Football DAL @ PHI = DAL - With the nation watching, do you really think TO isn't going to have up to five TD catches.... ----- Monday Night Football BAL @ PIT = PIT - Like I said before, PIT D is so good the Off. barely has to score. Well that's all for now fantasy junkies. Good Luck, Game on. Mr. X
