Vanderbilt methodically drove down the field with bullying running plays and capped it with a seven-yard touchdown run by Mackenzi Adams on a draw to tie the game at 20. Kentucky immmediately responded with a quick scoring drive highlighted by a 34 yard pass by Andre Woodson to Jacob Tamme that set up a 4-yard rushing score by Derrick Locke. Kentucky led 27-20. Vanderbilt took over and drove slowly into Kentucky territory and ate up a lot of the clock, converting three fourth downs in the process: one on a sneak by Adams and two on passes to Earl Bennett. On 2nd and 1 at the Kentucky 15, Adams was sacked, forcing him to spike the ball to stop the clock. On 4th and 6, Adams overthrew Wheeler in the end zone. Kentucky kneeled it out and escaped with the victory. Final score: Kentucky 27, Vanderbilt 20. Vanderbilt is 5-5, 2-5 in SEC play, and its postseason hopes are in jeopardy.
