Welcome to the 9th annual week of StartEm/BenchEm with Mr. X. Well this week is very special indeed. Turkey day is tommorow and some NFL games are going down. Luckily the StartEm/BenchEm this week are going to be divded into Thursday and Sunday Categories. The Thursday Locks are mostly people that I believe are going to be major performers. My lifetime predicitons stand at 71-41. My teams are 10-0, 8-1, 9-2, and 9-2. Without further ado, let's get to it. StartEm THURSDAY ---------------------------------- Brett Favre QB/GB - Going up against a soft DET pass D, it's a game of some importance, and GB is on fire. Donald Driver WR/GB - One begets the other. Tony Romo QB/DAL - A Brett Favre wanna-be who is doing an damn fine job of honoring him. Terrel Owens WR/DAL - Last week he outproduced half my team combined. This week should be about the same. R. Williams WR/DET - Despite the fact that DET is going to lose, Kitna really has looked his way to make any sort of play. Jerricho Cotchery WR/NYJ - Cowboys D has been dissapointing against the pass to say the least, and Clemens seems to be giving him the lion's share of the looks. All your Colts QB/RB/WR/TE/K/D/ST IND - This is the week the Colts get back on track. BenchEm THURSDAY --------------------------------------- All your Falcons QB/RB/WR/TE/K/D/ST ATL - They suck, worse than DET. Harrington extends his curse of suck. Kevin Jones RB/DET - This week doesn't look so good, and neither do the rest. If you still have free agents and there is anyone better...waive him. Defense D/ST NYJ - Going against the high scoring TO and Romo combo, not really sensing a big game for the D. Thomas Jones RB/NYJ - Please do not be fooled by the facade of him actually having talent. He still doesn't have a TD, and this one doesn't look good. Thursday Predictions --------------------------------- GB @ DET = GB - Brett Favre is having an amazing season and DET hot streak has come to an end, no brainer here. NYJ @ DAL = DAL - NYJ did well against PIT (I still say PIT is going to beat NE), but this week it is a return to Earth as DAL will beat the stuffing out of them. IND @ ATL = IND - Colts get back on track, especially against Harrington and Leftwich.... Everything above the line below will not be changed when this is edited on Saturday for Sunday's games. End of Thursday Games ----------------------- GB > DET - Favre continues to do well and yet say that his team may still not be good? DAL > NYJ - One sided throughout, thank the lord Romo is ok. IND > ATL - Colts are back, yes I do have NFL network and thankfully so does Vandy. Not that they could have picked more one sided games for Thanksgiving, I'm at 3-0. End of 1 PM Games ---------------------- SEA > STL - STL came close with Jackson's rebirth, sadly they fall short to a surprisingly efficient SEA. MIN > NYG - And so the worries that seemed to be dispelled against DET all come out again, NYG second-half of the season curse lives. TB > WAS - Garcia is having probably the greatest year I have seen. NO > CAR - NO shows they still have what it takes to make a playoff run. JAX > BUF - JAX is starting to look good, really good. CIN > TEN - Defensive woes of TEN let the Bengals walk all over them. Congrats to Chad Johnson for being able to play again and perhaps fulfill the promise of HOF 20?? . CLE > HOU - The hot streak continues for CLE. OAK > KC - Came down to the wire and OAK had the ball last. The more I see this the more I believe that being down by anywhere from 4-6 points is the best thing that could possibly happen when you get the ball back with 3 mins. That puts me at 8-3. See y'all after the 4 PM games. End of 4 PM Games -------------------- SF > ARI CHI > DEN SD > BAL End of Sunday Night Football --------------------------- NE > PHI - Way to go Feeley, first quarterback to actually give NE a run for their money. End of Monday Night Football --------------------------- PIT > MIA - Wow, despite the crappy playing conditions and low score, now that NE is doubting themselves a little I think PIT definitely has the defense necessary to take down NE. That puts me at 11- 5 for the week, cya next time.
