I have been getting terrible ping times at certain times of the day (upwards of 300+ms from many different sites such as ESPN and Google) and it is pretty annoying. According to broadbandreports.com I am a dismal 224ms away from my first hop, which leads me to believe that a router near Lewis is getting overloaded at peak hours. I am not sure how the Vanderbilt network is structured, and it is impossible for me to test ping times from different places on campus simultaneously so it is hard for me to guess how many people this problem might effect. I kind of want to tell ITS about it but I am not sure if they would care. If you want to quickly test your own ping go to http://www.pcpitstop.com/internet/pinger.asp and tell me what you get (include time of day and stuff)
