Granted, the organization has only existed in its current form for a year. But I'm pretty sure this record will stand for a while.
Sophomore Matt Snyder, current Engineering senator, came to the mandatory meeting Tuesday to declare his candidacy.
Just one problem - He didn't have a running mate yet. Attorney General Andrew Gossett told him he could have until 8:30 p.m., but Snyder didn't have to wait that long.
He first tried to convince current Executive Vice President Perry Gragg to temporarily run with him but then settled for General Secretary Rebecca Reichardt, a smart move considering that Gragg, a senior, would not be eligible to run.
Snyder set out after the meeting to find an actual running mate, but when that fell through, he dropped out of the race at 9:50 p.m.
For an official candidacy of just over two and a half hours.
