Thursday, Feb. 7
Take a look at Patrick Sweany with the Mechanical Birds at The Basement tonight, beginning at 9 p.m. Sweany's country ensemble plays over 150 gigs each year, and is now promoting their latest album, "C'mon C'mere." Tickets are just $7.

Friday, Feb. 8
Exit/In plays host to The Sways, as well as Dan Baird and Homemade Sin tonight. Each band is very experienced in the touring arena, playing live for over two decades. The Sways is known for its innovative approach to folk and blues, while bassist Keith Christopher has worked extensively with Kenny Wayne Shepherd. The Sways kicks off the show at 8 p.m.; general admission tickets run $15.

Saturday, Feb. 9
Don't forget to see Cross Canadian Ragweed, featured in last week's issue, at The Cannery Ballroom this evening. Frontman Cody Canada and his band create a unique blend of country and rock that will definitely amaze. The show kicks off at 10 p.m., with tickets at $18.

Sunday, Feb. 10
Check out the fiddle and guitar demonstration of David Coe and Elkin Brown at the Country Music Hall of Fame, beginning at 1 p.m. and included with museum admission. The two have played primarily with Irish folk and country acts, and will perform a variety of traditional Appalachian and Irish songs.

Monday, Feb. 11
Indulge your more urbane tastes with Blair's very own Brass Quintet, featuring Allan Cox, Leslie Norton and more. Best of all, Ingram Hall is only a few short minutes away. Admission is free for students and faculty; be there by 8 p.m.

Tuesday, Feb. 12
Fans of the King won't want to miss the Elvis Presley tribute concert at the Ryman, featuring a variety of performers, including Amy Grant, Vince Gill and many others. Balcony and floor seats start at $35, and the show begins promptly at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Feb. 13
Be sure to see Corinne Gooden at the French Quarter Cafe for a night of soulful music and Cajun food. The North Carolina native is influenced by the likes of folk musicians James Taylor and Patti Griffin, and played extensively in New York before moving to Nashville. Gooden and her band will start playing the no-cover show at 8:30 p.m.
