VANDY ROMPS KENTUCKY 93-52! WILDCATS HELD TO 11 POINTS IN THE FIRST HALF!
0:45 Remaining
Duffy and Graham have both scored and now Cole is in! Vandy leads 90-50.
3:01 Remaining
Duffy and Graham are in there with Vandy up 38.
4:45 Remaining
Vanderbilt leads 82-39 and will improve to 15-0 when scoring 75 points or more this season.
9:37 Remaining
Vanderbilt up 39, all of the Vanderbilt starters are pulled, leaving to an ovation as Drake, Metcalf, Bell, Walker, and McClellan hit the floor.
11:51 Remaining
Vandy leads 64-23, but on the bright side for Kentucky, they've already beat their offensive output from the first half.
12:38 Remaining
Vandy leads 62-21, as Kentucky is starting to really knock Ogilvy around, as Metcalf will come in to avoid any further confrontation.
16:31 Remaining
Down 41 points, Kentucky is losing their cool, as Gillespie was just called for a technical foul. This one is getting real ugly for Kentucky as both Foster and Neltner have outscored their entire team, leading to "Neltner's winning chants" from the student section. The only thing that's concerning is the increasing jawing from the Kentucky players. The last thing anyone wants here is an altercation.
20:00 Remaining
Vandy has all of their starters on the floor to start the half against the Wildcats who had just three field goals in the first half, two less than Ross Neltner or Shan Foster.
^SECOND HALF^
---
0:14 Remaining
'Bring back Tubby chants' are starting toemanatefrom the Vandy student section here. Vanderbilt leads by the 30 and you'd have to believe that this has been a somewhat humbling event for Billy Gillespie and his squad.
1:28 Remaining
Kentucky ended their 12:20 drought with out a field goal on a layup by Crawford, but still trail 41-10, as the Vanderbilt starters have been able to take long rests throughout the game.
3:09 Remaining
Vandy leads 37-8, as there's almost a sense of disbelief here in the gym. However, Vanderbilt should be wary of a comeback. While they are almost up by 30, they of all teams should know how much of difference a half can make.
4:07 Remaining
I've never seen anything like this, Kentucky just scored their first points in 9:49 with two free throws, Vandy leads 34-8.
6:12 Remaining
Commodores lead 28-6 as Kentucky simply cannot find an open look, as they're just 2 for 10 from the field.
7:23 Remaining
Commodores lead 25-6, on an offense fueled by easy baskets off backdoor cuts such as the last basket by Foster. The idea is, why take a three when you can just as easily take an uncontested layup. The Commodores D has been remarkable keeping the Wildcats on the perimeter all game long, as Patterson has not only yet to score, but even when he gets a touch on the ball, he's too far from the basket to make a post move.
10:14 Remaining
The Vandy starting squad is entirely back in the game, and well-rested. The Dores lead 23-6.
11:36 Remaining
Vandy leads 21-6 thanks to great defense that has kept the Kentucky offense on the perimeter all game and away from their scoring threats in the post and off the offensive glass. Meanwhile, even with mostly bench players in the game the Vandy offense has been very wise in their shot selection, and don't seem to be rushing possessions as they have in conference play so often. The formula for Vandy's success, more post touches, few three point attempts- they're taking it to the Wildcats.
13:37 Remaining
Vanderbilt continues to play patient and powerful offense and leads 19-6 , as Neltner and Foster take a breather with 9 and 7 points respectively.
15:19 Remaining
Ross Neltner can do no wrong early as he knocks down a three to give Vanderbilt a 12-3 lead here in the early going. While the defense continues to cause Wildcat turnovers, Neltner has revived the Vanderbilt offense of last year with backdoor cuts to the basket for easy points, and playing lockdown defense on the dangerous Patterson. Vanderbilt has also been very strong on the boards so far, and Kentucky isn't getting a lot of second chances thus far.
15:50 Remaining
Vanderbilt leads 9-3, as they're doing good job making sure their post players are getting touches here in the early going. The Commodore defense has also been swarming and the Kentucky offense has been forced to operate their game from well outside the three-point line
^FIRST HALF^
---
Good Evening, everyone. Tonight we're at Memorial Gym for an SEC conference matchup with big implications, between the Kentucky Wildcats (12-9, 6-2) and the 19th ranked Vanderbilt Commodores (20-4, 5-4).
This will likely be a heated contest, as the two teams played a messy, double-overtime game earlier this year at Rupp Arena that saw Vanderbilt lose its first game of the year. The Commodores will no doubt be looking to return the favor on their homecourt this time around.
After what can only be described as adisastrousnon-conference performance, the Wildcats have been a force to be reckoned within conference play, especially on their home court, where they not only took down Vanderbilt, but also handed Tennessee their only conference loss of the season.
While they may still be heading for the NIT, Kentucky still possesses a great deal of talent. Patrick Patterson absolutely dominated the interior the last time these two teams played, scoring 23 points and ripping down 12 boards. If anything, the Commodores need to be more physical against him, and limit Kentucky's second chance opportunities, which led to Vandy's downfall last time out.
This game should be close, and Memorial Gym is packed to the brim in this sold out contest. Enjoy the game, everyone.
Here are tonight's starting lineups:

#32 F Joe Crawford
#34 F Ramon Harris
