Senator John McCain and Senator Barack Obama have much to celebrate. Presidential primaries were held for both parties Tuesday, February 12, in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. Obama defeated Senator Hillary Clinton by large margins in all three Democratic races. McCain crushed fellow Republican Mike Huckabee in D.C. and Maryland. McCain also won Virginia with 50% of the vote (Huckabee garnered a respectable 41%). CNN’s current estimates now place Obama ahead of Clinton in the delegate count. McCain maintains his solid lead, with nearly 600 more delegates than Huckabee. Below are the results from Saturday, Feb 9th; Sunday, Feb 10th; and Tuesday, Feb 12th. For up-to-the-minute details, visit CNN’s Election Center 2008.
