THURSDAY
Men's Basketball vs. Auburn
2:15 p.m.
TV: Raycom
After matching its best regular season ever with 25 wins, No. 18 Vanderbilt (25-6, 10-6 Southeastern Conference) opens the postseason Thursday in Atlanta at the SEC tournament against Auburn, the No. 6 seed out of the SEC West.
The Commodores defeated Auburn in their only match-up this season at Memorial Gym on Feb. 2, 78-71. The victory started a seven-game winning streak before Vanderbilt lost two of its last three games, ruling out any chance of earning a first-round bye in the SEC tournament. Last season, Vanderbilt earned a first-round bye but lost to Arkansas in the second round, 72-71.
The Tigers (14-15, 4-12 SEC) ended their regular season on a four-game losing streak and have lost 10 of their last twelve. They are 6-1 all-time in the SEC tournament against Vanderbilt.
WEDNESDAY
Baseball vs. Western Carolina
4 p.m.
No. 4 Vanderbilt (9-3) goes for the sweep of Western Carolina (4-8) at Hawkins Field after winning yesterday, 5-3. The series marks the first time the two schools have played each other on the baseball field.
Redshirt freshman Mark Lamm (0-0, 0.00 ERA) will be the starting pitcher for Vanderbilt. Lamm has appeared in relief roles this season, but this will be his first career start for the Commodores.
THURSDAY
Women's Tennis vs. Furman
2:30 p.m.
The No. 9 Commodores take on No. 65 Furman at Currey Tennis Center after a successful week that saw them move up 11 spots in the rankings. Vanderbilt (9-3, 1-3 SEC) defeated then-No. 21 LSU for its first SEC win and also beat defending national champion Georgia Tech last week.
