I had never been on juicycampus.com until tonight. I visited the site to confirm the existence of a post that I so desperately wish did not exist. Its initiator represents the most evil-spirited, awe-inspiring type of human being: the racist. I do not understand them, and I probably never will. I could go on about the evils of racism in all its forms: prejudice against American minorities, worldwide antisemitism, etc. But to me, these evils are just self-evident. I can't fathom a pro-racist argument (that makes sense), so I'll just let the facts speak for themselves.

I just checked my Vanderbilt email and found a message from Vandy's NAACP stating that some students had found some racist material on the Vanderbilt portion of the juicycampus website. The email reprinted the material and noted how the Vanderbilt media had yet to pick up on it. The author of the initial message does not self-identify as a Vanderbilt student, but I think there is a strong possibility that he or she is a student because he/she refers to Vanderbilt as "our" school when addressing the student body. Some of the replies claim to be written by Vandy students, and some do not. Of course we can't be sure because of the anonymous nature of the site. In any event, the whole affair appalls me and there's nothing else I have to say about that, except that I believe that everyone should see it. If this person is bold enough to post this on juicycampus for the world to see, then he or she should have no problem with me sharing it with more of the Vanderbilt community.
