I'm an incoming Freshman for fall of '08. I was wondering if marriage is a possibility while attending Vanderbilt or if it would be a better decision to wait until after graduation. My girlfriend and I have been dating for a while now and know that we want to eventually get married. Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome to Vanderbilt!!! ...Marriage is definitely a possibility while attending Vanderbilt as an undergrad. I do not know the specifics of married college life (as I'm single), but I do know that it would affect several aspects, namely financial aid and housing (if she is also coming to Vanderbilt). Perhaps my best advice would be to suggest that you and your parents contact someone in the Office of the Dean of Students (615-322-6400) and tell them your situation and ask them every question that you can possibly think of. They are absolutely great and should be best equipped to refer you to any other offices that may be relevant to you....Good luck!
