MUSIC: Album review: The Switches lay down the law

London, England's newest power rock quartet is led by front man Matt Bishop, who has been making music since he was four (he was unsigned, but showed a lot of potential). His experience definitely shines through; The Switches have an extremely robust sound that is reminiscent of Franz Ferdinand mixed with a dash of the golden boys of pop punk (i.e., Green Day, Blink-182 and the like). Their debut album "Lay Down The Law" is packed with fist-pumping rock that really meshes well with the cover art of the album, which depicts a fight in a club. These anthems will have you dancing till you drop, if not jumping along in irreverent euphoria. Fiery riffs are complemented perfectly by a titillating high-hat line that keeps things fresh and fun, as the record takes you on an adventurous night in the London underground rock club scene.
