Rising junior Mike Warren was elected division head of The Vanderbilt Hustler yesterday.

The Vanderbilt Student Communications Inc.'s Board of Directors voted unanimously to elect Warren to the position.

Warren is an active member of VSC, serving on the board and as an associate editor of The Torch.

Bruce Barry, chairman of the VSC board and professor of management and sociology, said he looks forward to Warren's term as division head.

"Among a strong set of candidates, Mike stodd out as someone who understood the big-picture issues of the strategic future of the campus press," Barry said. "We're looking forward to seeing how a lot of the progress we have made (plays out) under his leadership."

Warren's term officially begins May 1, when we will replace the outgoing editor, senior Elizabeth Middlebrooks.
