FOOTBALL: Commodores see increased ticket sales

Vanderbilt athletic officials announced season ticket sales for the 2008 home football schedule are greatly exceeding projections.

As of May 11, 10,238 season tickets have been sold, a 17.6 percent increase on the total sales of 8,703 through the same date last year.

Last year, the final tally of season tickets sold was 15,037 for Vanderbilt's eight-game home schedule, the most sold by the Commodores since 1996.

This year, Vanderbilt has six home games on the schedule, playing South Carolina, Rice, Auburn, Duke, Florida and Tennessee.
