Tom Dillehay, professor of anthropology, received the highest book award from the Society of American Archeology for his work, "Monuments, Empires and Resistance."
Utilizing over 30 years of archeological, anthropological and archival research, Dillehay examines how the Araucanian people of southern Chile resisted Spanish dominance for more than 300 years.
