Thursday, July 3
Enjoy the sounds of Reggae DJ with your favorite coffee or late night snack at Caf?© Coco. Every Thursday in July, Reggae DJ will be playing the best in reggae, hip-hop and afro-beats at this restaurant-venue beginning at 11 p.m. There is no cover charge.

Friday, July 4
The Riverfront Park will be packed with FREE activities in honor of 4th of July. The festivities begin with a family fun zone at noon followed by pre-show live music by The WannaBeatles, Les Kerr & The Bayou Band and The Lost Trailers. Before the fireworks, there will be main stage performances by the barbershop quartet Max Q singing the national anthem, Barry Scott, the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, Phil Vassar and Michael McDonald beginning at 7 p.m. The fireworks are set to start around 9:25 p.m. Alcohol, backpacks, coolers and lawn chairs are prohibited.

If you want to continue the party after the fireworks, head over to see the 1980s cover band Guilty Pleasures perform at the Wildhorse Saloon for $10.25

Saturday, July 5
Dance the summer night away with Dancing in Centennial Park. Grab a friend or two to take advantage of the FREE swing lessons that begin at 7 p.m. in the park’s Event Shelter. The big band style dancing continues until 10 p.m. and includes an amateur swing dance competition. If dancing isn’t your style, feel free to bring a lawn chair and blanket to enjoy the live music. If you can’t make it this week, no worries. Dancing in Centennial Park takes place every Saturday night until Sept. 6.

Sunday, July 6
Looking for a little live music? You’ve got it at 3rd and Lindsley. For a mere $10 you can enjoy the music of Lisa Loeb with Ricky Young. You cannot buy tickets online the day of the day of the show, but can buy at the door if it is not stated on the web site that they are sold out.

Monday, July 7
A night at the historic Bluebird Caf?© is a must for all who appreciate original music. The Bluebird will be having an open mic night that begins at 6 p.m. without a cover charge. The open mic session will be followed by 9:30 p.m. performances by the Mike Henderson Band with Willie Domann and Kevin McKendree for $7. While enjoying the intimate acoustic performances, you can also eat and drink, but save the talking for after the sets because it is highly discouraged.


Tuesday, July 8
Take a break from the movies at Green Hills and Blockbuster and try a film screening at Hillsboro Village’s Belcourt Theatre. “Pizza Man” tells the story of a nerdy pizza delivery driver and the love of his life. This odd couple story can be enjoyed for $8. The film begins at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, July 9
Get a taste of art history with a day or afternoon trip to The Frist Museum. The museum currently features four exhibits:

You can visit the museum on Wed. from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. for $6.50 with your college I.D.
