Hearing the Versus staffers talk about their latest issue, I expected articles on sex that would totally blow my mind. And, lo and behold, the latest cover blares, "PULLING THE BEDSHEETS BACK: Exposing the Culture of SEX at Vandy."
Well, there was very little "exposing" going on. There were no interviews with students or anything; instead, we got four columns exposing the culture of sex among a small subset of the Versus staffers. There's nothing wrong with that, of course, but if it's just a four-person mishmash of dry personal reflections on how sometimes Vanderbilt students have sex, it probably shouldn't be touted as "Exposing" anything. I already knew that Vanderbilt students occasionally sleep together; instead of a restatement of the obvious, I demand lurid details!
Also, there were lots of pictures of flowers (Thanks, Georgia O'Keefe, for really getting that already-tired iconographic nightmare rolling).
