Vanderbilt quarterback Chris Nickson received Offensive Player of the Week honors from the Southeastern Conference for his performance last Thursday against Miami (Ohio), where he rushed for 166 yards, a career best, and two touchdowns, as well as passed for 91 yards and one touchdown.
His rushing total was one yard shy of the Vanderbilt quarterback record set by Van Heflin against Army 1979.
Nickson's career day led the Commodores to a 34-13 victory in the season opener.
