Vanderbilt linebacker Patrick Benoist was named Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Week after his 15-tackle performance in a 24-17 win over 24th-ranked South Carolina last Thursday.
Benoist also registered a sack, pass deflection and a tackle for loss in the Vanderbilt victory.
