Hey all, welcome to the first week of Mr. X’s predictions and picks for the 2nd week of the NFL. Welcome to a running blog about America’s greatest league, the NFL. This week we’ll be looking into fantasy players to start and sit as well as make some predictions about the day. Start Em --------------- Matt Cassel QB/NE – Tom Brady is out, for those of you that didn’t see it plastered everywhere. So this guy steps into his shoes, and even though he isn’t Brady, he still has the original receiving corps to work with… Larry Johnson RB/KC – Against the weak Raiders this previous fantasy pro is all but a sure play this week. Justin Gage WR/TEN – Bengals horrible defense and the new QB in TEN has me high on this guy’s talent. Vince Young may be out for a while, possibly even quitting the NFL making the WR better targets as I always believed his accuracy and decision making to be suspect. Jon Kitna QB/DET – Lions usually lose, but Kitna always has time to bomb passes that someone eventually catches. Ricky Williams RB/MIA – MIA wants to control the clock and will run it down the Cards throats. Eli Manning QB/NYG – Basically, I had doubts but now he’s over his little jitters and seems to now systematically break apart secondaries. Bench Em ------------------ Carson Palmer QB/CIN – I loved him all last year as he saved my team in key leagues. Last week basically made me sick to my stomach. This week he’s playing an incredibly staunch TEN defense whose motto is sack, stuff, sack. Chris Perry and Kenney Watson RB/CIN – As seen above, the Titans have barely let a run by, making these two a serious doubt in my mind. Marc Bulger QB/STL – His offensive line is horrible, they get run over every…single…play. Jake Delhomme QB/CAR – They’re playing the Bears who destroyed the Colts with Peyton last week. Need more? Ronald Curry WR/OAK – They’re gonna try to get it to him, but they’ll have to stick with the run game to control the clock if they get ahead. LenDale White RB/TEN – I’ll say it, he’s fat. His counterpart got all the good touches last week, and is likely to repeat. Predicitons -------------------- 1 PM Games IND @ MIN = IND - The real Peyton will be back and is most likely upset about last week. GB @ DET = GB – If you’re reading this, you clearly didn’t see who GB is playing against. OAK @ KC = KC – The run game will work here for KC. NYG @ STL = NYG – Eli is crazy and so is Plaxico, easy win. TEN @ CIN = TEN – Defense and running is the name of the game here folks. NO @ WAS = NO – WAS is struggling and I see this one going NO’s way. CHI @ CAR = CAR – I’m actually impressed with them as of late, I think they take this one easy. BUF @ JAC = JAC – Tight matchup here. I say that JAC takes it due to running game. 4 PM Games SF @ SEA = SEA – NFL’s Most Boring Matchup Winner. SEA since they try. ATL @ TB = TB – The Falcons are still, in fact, the Falcons. NE @ NYJ = NYJ – I believe in the new NE QB, but Favre can pick apart this secondary easily. MIA @ ARI = ARI – MIA yeaaaaaa…. SD @ DEN = SD – I think DEN has some serious weapons, but SD is ticked after a last second loss last week and I’m looking for LT to make a return. Sunday Night Football PIT @ CLE = PIT – Great defense and CLE is struggling, easy win. Monday Night Football PHI @ DAL = DAL – They’re at home and they’re fantastic. That’s all for now, I’ll update as the games progress. Good Luck and G’Bye. Mr. X
