WOMEN'S TENNIS: Vanderbilt goes 15-2 at Hoosier Classic

The Vanderbilt women's tennis team closed out this weekend's Hoosier Classic on another positive note as all five of its players picked up singles wins Sunday. The Commodores closed out the weekend with an astonishing 15-2 record in singles action.

"I was real proud of the way we played this weekend," head coach Geoff Macdonald said. "These fall tournaments are great for development, and I saw a lot positive things out of our team this weekend against good competition."

The freshman trio of Chelsea Preeg, Jackie Wu and Heather Steinbauer led the Commodore attack by posting undefeated marks of 3-0. Wu, a freshman, pushed her season mark to 6-0, as she cruised through Indiana's Katya Zapadalova in straight sets. Preeg won her third match in as many days as she dispatched Charlotte Martin of Indiana, 6-2, 6-2.
Steinbauer, playing in her first collegiate tournament, posted an undefeated weekend by disposing Ohio State's Christian Keesey 6-3, 6-2 Sunday.

Hannah Blatt and Keilly Ulery improved their weekend singles record to 2-1 as they picked up wins over Indiana's Maria Guerreiro and Alba Berdala respectively.

Erica Robertson also played this weekend for the Commodores, compiling a 2-0 mark in singles and 1-1 mark in doubles.
