Cooper cancels tonight's appearance at School of Nursing in order to meet with Obama team

U.S. Rep. Jim Cooper has canceled his scheduled lecture tonight at the School of Nursing.

According a statement posted by Vanderbilt University News Service:

We just got word that Congressman Jim Cooper has been asked to stay in Washington tonight to meet with President-elect Obama’s economic team and a few key members of Congress. He extends his sincere apologies for cancelling on short notice.

We at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing will work with Congressman Cooper’s office to reschedule him sometime in the near future.

Cooper was to discuss “What the Future Looks Like in Health Care Reform” as the third installment in the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing Centennial Lecture Series.
