The acclaimed short story writer Patrick O'Keeffe, winner of the 2005 Story Prize, will be on campus Thursday. Part of the Gertrude Vanderbilt and Harold S. Vanderbilt Visiting Writers Program, O'Keeffe will give a reading from "The Hill Road" at 8 p.m. in Buttrick Hall room 102. Admission is free and open to all students.
"The Hill Road" consists of four different novellas centered on the life of rural Irish farmers in the parish of Kilroan. The stories each depict how over time the people and the community itself are changed.
Patrick O'Keeffe is also an assistant professor of creative writing and English at Colgate University.
